The Tricycle

Apal and Climando have to pay the hire of the Tricycle but they don´t have the money for the rent. What will they do to survive in a world where all hope of future is lost? What can those characters do to gain the possibility of tomorrow?

Three teenagers and an old man trying to survive in a hostile, unintelligible and alienating world. Four marginal characters who are looking for their place in a system which left them out.

The Tricycle is the first play published by Fernando Arrabal. Written in 1952, is a strangely light-hearted tale of poverty and murder. In this perfect example of Absurd Theatre, the author questions the limits of freedom and the relationship between our acts and its consequences in a rotten society in which children have to commit sinister acts to survive.
